Sizing
Sock Sizes Decoded: From Shoe Size to the Right Cuff
The one-size range, in real numbers
Moyel adult crews and ankles are knit as one size fits most. In practice that covers about US men 6 to 12 and US women 5 to 11. The trick is the knit itself: stretch fibers in the cuff and instep let the same sock hug a size 7 foot and a size 11 foot without sagging on the first or strangling the second.
If the recipient wears men 13 or above, look for pairs marked large or wide fit in the specs. A stretched-past-its-range sock works for an evening and then quits at the heel.
Reading the chart
| Label | US men | US women | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| One size fits most | 6 - 12 | 5 - 11 | Covers most adults |
| Large / wide | 12 - 15 | 12+ | Also better for wide calves |
| Kids 4-6 yrs | 10C - 13C | Knee-high packs | |
| Kids 7-10 yrs | 1Y - 4Y | Knee-high packs | |
Kids knee-highs: age bands, not shoe sizes
Kids packs are labeled by age range because children within a band cluster tightly on foot length. If a kid runs tall for their age, jump to the next band; a slightly roomy knee-high stays up better than a tight one that migrates down the calf by recess.
Crew, ankle, knee-high: height matters more than length
- Ankle sits at or just above the shoe line. Best for gym sessions and pickleball courts.
- Crew lands mid-calf. The default canvas for woven art and sole messages, since there is more fabric to draw on.
- Knee-high reaches just under the knee. The kids favorite, and the format where animal designs get the most room to play.
When in doubt, gift a crew
Buying blind? A one-size crew is the statistical safe bet: the widest fit range, the boldest designs, and no one has ever returned socks for being too funny. For the humor-matching part, the gift guide takes over where sizing ends.
